I offer taster session in lampworking at the Dragon Hole on a variety of open events throughout the year.
Or you can let me know when you're popping over to have a go! A taster on the flame involves a heath and safety briefing and the opportunity to see how molten glass works by making a couple of simple beads. These beads won't get annealed in a kiln so cannot be used for jewellery making, but are available for you to take away once cooled on the same day. £5 per person |
Workshops
Coming in 2017/18
Longer Courses
These are ideal for people who would like a longer taster in lampworking.
Come along with plenty of enthusiasm, and a healthy respect for hot glass and you'll soon be melting rods of glass into simple beads. I provide all the materials, safety equipment and tuition and you get to take your beads home on the same day when they are cool. These beads will not be annealed so cannot be used for jewellery making due to the potential for the glass to 'shock' and break. Cost £20 per hour per person. Limited to a maximum of two people.
